Your Visit to an Osteopath

Appointment times for new patients are one hour and for continuing patients are half an hour.

Your initial appointment will commence with an in-depth discussion (case history) of your current problem and past medical history.

You may then be asked to remove outer layers of clothing so that the relevant areas can be examined. For female patients, a vest top and pair of shorts can be worn if you prefer.

A physical examination shall be performed and your Osteopath will talk you through it explaining the relevance of what they have detected.

Following this, based on your case history and the examination findings, a diagnosis and treatment plan shall be discussed. Treatment shall then be given.

Exercise and postural advice may be advised to speed up your recovery.

In some cases it may be necessary for your Osteopath to refer you on for further investigation such as X-ray or MRI before commencing treatment.

You are welcome to bring a chaperone along with you for your visit and anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian throughout their consultation and treatment.

Fees for initial and follow up appointments are as follows:

Luke Jackman (Principal Osteopath): £50 for initial appointment, £45 for follow up
